Successful holiday show returns to Harrogate in 2024

A holiday home show which moved to Harrogate last year is returning to the North Yorkshire town in 2024.

Renamed the Great Caravan, Motorhome and Holiday Home Show, the event will be open to the public from Friday 6Sunday 8 September, with a further three days for businesses in the sector from Tuesday 10 – Thursday 12 September.

Positive feedback on last year’s event has prompted its return to the Great Yorkshire Showground, which last year saw thousands of visitors across both the public and trade shows. It will be managed on behalf of organisers HERCMA by Expect Events Ltd, led by the same team as last year, Mike Large and Heather Parry.

HERCMA Chairman Richard Jones said: “Our first show in Harrogate was a big success and we are looking forward to building on this for the good of the industry. We were also pleased that the Show and trade dinner made significant donations to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the Yorkshire Childrens Society. We took a big leap of faith by moving the Show to a more central location and we have received positive and constructive comments which will help us develop it further. Exciting times ahead, for us all.”

New for 2024 is a more flexible ticket offer to allow visitors to buy one ticket and attend on any day or on all three days. Richard Jones said: “This is a first for us and recognises that visitors are making big purchasing decisions and need time to feel comfortable with their choices.

“It will also allow visitors the opportunity to spend time elsewhere in the district which is a beautiful town on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales.”

The 2023 event raised £37,100 for Yorkshire Air Ambulance. Regional Fundraising Manager, North and East, Tessa Klemz said: “We extend our heartfelt appreciation to HERCMA for their generosity and support. Their donation will significantly aid our life-saving missions across Yorkshire and enable us to continue providing critical care and rapid response to those in need across the region.  The opportunity to raise awareness at the Show and to engage with existing and new donors is also invaluable.”

The 2023 trade dinner raised a massive £71,955 for Yorkshire Children’s Charity. CEO

Charlotte Farrington said: “A huge thank you goes to everyone who donated, pledged, and took part in the silent auction on the evening. Your generosity will go a long, long way. We’re also incredibly grateful to the event sponsors who made such a wonderful evening happen.”
